The
timberframe addition is a 24 wide by 28 deep frame with
a upper loft with 56" knee walls allowing 100% walk-able
floor area in the master bedroom loft with en-suite. On the main
floor there is a 14 x 24 living room, a 14 x 12
dining room, and a 14 x 12 kitchen with island.
This
frame was attached to the existing home with a timber-framed entrance
with exposed rafters. The rafters are extended over the front door
to create a covered roof on the exterior of the house.
Parts
of the existing home will be converted into a country art studio
for owners, John and Cheryl.
This
project was supervised by Terry Klassen and built on site with local
labor in the Woodstock and Kingston area.

This timberframe was our basic Haida model cottage.
