Timber Pro Wood Finishes are manufactured
in Vancouver B.C. Canada. This speciality finish is reputed to
be one of the best natural wood finishes in the industry. Our products
are used by several top log home companies, government agencies,
custom cedar home dealers and wood manufacturers who are "in
the know" when it comes to the proper way of maintaining and
protecting natural wood siding and decking. The formula is quite
unique and difficult to classify because it does not fit neatly
into either the "oil base" category or the "water
base" category. The following qualities best describe what
makes Timber Pro so special.
Oil Resin Based, Water Borne - Natural plant derived oils can
be modified into resin. Resin is the toughest and most expensive
ingredient in any wood finish. There are different grades and qualities
of resin. Many wood stains contain a small percentage of resin,
be it an oil resin or an acrylic/latex type resin. Timber Pro is
made exclusively from 100% oil resin of the very highest grade
and is not diluted with other solids that are not as durable as
resin. Our top grade oil resin is specifically designed to bleed
deep into the wood and is carried into the wood via water. You
have the beauty and durability of an oil/resin base with the environmental
safety of a water carrier.
Easy to Maintain - Consumers are so concerned with "how much
does it cost and how long does it last?" that they often forget
to ask, "How easy is it to maintain?" Many wood stains
build up a film on the surface that should be stripped before it
is reapplied. Stripping is a difficult and costly job. Timbers
Pro does not build a gummy film over time and does not crack chip
or peel. Simply lightly powerwash and reapply only the clear coat
over the years to keep the original semitransparent coats fresh
and protected. This eliminates the "painted look" that
often shows up years later with products that do not have a clear
topcoat system.
Non-Darkening - Ever notice how some natural wood sided homes
and log homes darken in colour as they weather due to the sun continually
heating up the oil day after day, darkening the finish with each "re-heat".
Soft oil finishes can also be sticky for months, causing dirt,
dust, pollen and pollution to attach themselves to the wood. This
then feeds mildew accumulation that can blacken the wood. The oil/resin
in Timber Pro does not soften and darken with UV and Timber Pro
dries without stickiness so dirt and dust will not be attracted
to the wood.
