At Owl Ridge Timber Framing, our commitment is simple: The creation
of energy efficient custom built timberframe structures, as elegant
and distinctive as they are rich in tradition and craftsmanship.
We have based this company on integrity, quality and service.
Owl Ridge Timber Framing believes in setting
a price level that is attainable for the average income-earning
person to build a
home. You should not need to earn a six-digit income to afford
the luxury of having an Owl Ridge Timberframe home. We are lowering
the prices for Timberframing while offering the highest quality
design, materials and workmanship. We want to keep the company
smaller, more one-on-one with the customer. We have no sales staff
or dealers in order to keep overhead low and mark-ups/commission
are unknown words in our company.
Located on our new property in Chase, in the southern interior
of British Columbia, Canada, we serve clients in a wide geographic
area, including the United States and Europe and Asia.
Typically, custom timberframe structures by Owl Ridge are cut
from standing dead Douglas Fir, but winter cut Douglas Fir, Western
White Pine, and other species are available. We are located near
a low frequency drying kiln, which can dry the timbers to 11-12%
with little checking or twisting. Owl Ridge promotes the use of
reclaimed wood wherever possible, especially old growth Douglas
Fir beams salvaged from warehouses and factories being torn down.
All joinery is traditional mortise-and-tenon secured with chamfered
oak pegs. Complex roofs, dormers, and unique joinery techniques
are a specialty for both residential and commercial structures.
Timberframe trusses are also available for regular constructed
homes to add flair and personality. Owl Ridge is associated with
EnerGreen,
structural panels to enclose, insulate and protect the timberframe,
and with Heritage Millwork,
a high quality millwork window and door company. Wood timber and
log stairs as well as
metal fabricated circular stairs with wooden treads are also available
upon request.
We can supply FSC certified timber. FSC certification enables
consumers to support responsible forestry and provides forest owners
with an incentive to maintain and improve forest management practices.
The Forest Stewardship Council provides an independent guarantee
of credibility. The FSC provides a credible and consistent approach
to certifying forest products. The result is that when consumers
see an FSC logo on a forest product, they can be sure that their
purchase supports forestry that meets the highest standards for
environmentally and socially responsible forestry."
